This is my latest art work for a Lore book project Beyond The Last War: The Wayward Mercenary by Claude Mckenna available on Amazon.
The sun shone as brightly as it could through the thick, ochre clouds overhead, and it was now that Johnnie could clearly see the town for what it was. A dump. It wasn’t any different from any of the other soot cities of the world, capital or not. Almost every structure was sandblasted, most of them halves of old office buildings, shops, and apartments only slightly renovated since they were destroyed in the Last War centuries ago. Post-war dwellings were few and far between, and constructed so sloppily that they looked no different from their ancient counterparts. Aside from the heat—which seemed more unbearable than usual for some reason—there were two things that made Soot Vienna stand out from the other Confederate towns: far too many people and the asphalt roads (soot city roads were usually just sand). There was also something overwhelmingly hideous about the place, though… Neo Vienna. Several gigantic poles sprouted from random areas throughout the city to support the metropolis high above the clouds. It was so high, in fact, that it cast no shadow (except for around noon, which Johnnie was about to experience), and one could barely make it out through the ochre sky. Yet every soot slicker knew it was there: it was a constant and ugly insult to all that were forced to live beneath it.
This is a city raid concept for Metal Conflict project featuring Escalate, a sniper unit of the Trivium OPS I designed recently.
This is the 3rd team design for my future warfare project Metal Conflict. I recently posted Trivium, a 3 unit mech OPS and Dust Hounds tracking / surveillance units. Ghost dispatch is intended for 5 unit mech foot transport for hostile terrains.
